On 11 January 2020 thousands of judges, prosecutors and lawyers from Poland and more than 20 European countries, accompanied by citizens marched the street of Warsaw in defence of judicial independence.
This march has never stopped and is more needed than ever in many countries and regions of the world.
Therefore, the International Association of Judges commemorated this event with a webinar.
Colleagues from all four IAJ regional groups shared stories about the defence of judicial independence.
We wanted to remind, that judicial independence is not a privilege of the judges. It is the basic human right of each and every citizen all around the world.
