On January 7th , Mr. Walter Barone, President of the International Association of Judges (IAJ), drafted a letter concerning the situation of the judiciary in Tunisia and the proceedings brought against the President of the Tunisian Magistrates’ Association, Judge Anas Hmedi.
The letter was sent to the President of the Republic of Tunisia; the President of the Government of Tunisia; the Ministry of Justice of Tunisia and the Special Rapporteur of the United Nations on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers.
