French School “YARSAV Promotion” ceremony for the choice of judicial posts in Bordeaux

Two years ago, trainee judges of the French “Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature” (National Training Institute for Judges and Prosecutors) had decided to name their promotion after YARSAV, the Turkish National Association of Judges and Prosecutors, banned by the current Turkish government, but still member of the IAJ. On 3rd April 2019 the 332 trainee judges and prosecutors have ended their scholarship period and chose their posts during a ceremony in the Bordeaux premises of the Institute. The IAJ wishes all the best to these new colleagues, who decided to chose for their promotion the name of an Association which has been fighting for so many years for the independence of the judiciary and whose President, Judge Murat Arslan, has recently received the Vaclav Havel Prize, awarded by the Council of Europe.
