On September 21st on the occasion of the second and last session of the Central Council in Tel Aviv (Israel), a resolution was adopted by the Assembly:

On 5-7 of July 2022, an important meeting organised by the “Association des Magistrats Tunisiens”, member of the IAJ, took place in Tunis (Tunisia).
In attendance were the President of the African Group, Ms. Marcelle Kouassi and IAJ Honorary President Mr. Christophe Regnard.
H.P. Régnard prepared a mission report referring about the worring situation of judicial independence in Tunisia.
We publish here his report (in French), together with his presentation held in Tunis (in French), once again expressing IAJ’s complete and staunch solidarity to our Tunisian colleagues in this difficult moment.

The Presidency Committee of the International Association of Judges (IAJ), meeting in Verona on May 11, 2022, discussed the current situation of justice in Tunisia and deliberated, unanimously, to approve the following declaration:

Declaration on the situation of the Judiciary in Tunisia
The International Association of Judges endorsed a declaration, in French and English, concerning the situation of the Judiciary in Tunisia.
The IAJ expresses its solidarity with the Tunisian Judges and the members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary in their struggle for an independent judiciary, with integrity and guarantor of rights and freedoms according to international standards.
