The Critical Role of the Judiciary in Combating Trafficking in Human Beings

Following a meeting of Mr Igreja Matos (President of the EAJ) with Mr Richiey ( OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for combating Trafficking in Human Beings), we would like to share with all of you some interesting documents related to this important topic.

 Hereinafter you can find an introduction letter of Mr Richiey, together with the highlights of the high-level international conference “The Critical Role of the Judiciary in Combating Trafficking in Human Beings”

The Conference was jointly organized by the Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (CTHB) of the OSCE, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the OSCE field operations.

The report (available in English and Russian) contains concrete recommendations on how to strengthen the role of the judiciary in combating trafficking in human beings and provides a valuable foundation for further discussions around current human trafficking-related challenges.
